WASHTANONG

Our eight acre privately owned preserve is where we engage in conservation and stewardship outreach.  We encourage our guests to explore the pristine Grand River Fen either on our trails or by boat.  With permission, camping is allowed and visitors will have opportunities to learn about wildflowers, honeybees and mushrooms to name a few.  Many projects are underway and we always welcome participation.  To visit us at Washtanong contact us via email on the link below

Membership in the Conservancy is now and always will be free. Membership can involve doing nothing at all or donating as much time as you'd like. If you are interested in investing your time in a hands on, grass roots environmental project consider the Washtanong River Conservancy.

Our central focus will be on the preservation and conservation of the Grand River beginning at the Grand River Fen. We accomplish this through direct action like political activism, environmental initiatives and getting new paddlers on the river. Our educational outreach includes boating and water safety initiatives. We have developed long lasting partnerships with government and non government entities alike. Michigan State University Extension, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Jackson County Drain Commission and Ingham County Parks to name a few.

Washtanong River Conservancy is not a 501 c 3 organization.  We do not accept money and only utilize volunteer efforts to accomplish our goals. What we do is take the most appropriate action at that time.
